Question 1

Can you take the I/o shield off?

Accepted Answer

If I understand the question correctly, the answer is that the I.O shield, as a separate piece of pressed metal which snaps into the opening at the rear of the case, does not have to be snapped into place. The motherboard can be mounted without the I.O shield in place in the case. However, I/O shields are not decoration. They serve a function to minimize electromagnetic interference, so you might want to be sure you have a valid reason for not using the piece in your build.

Question 2

can you turn all of the leds off or only some? i love this motherboards looks and i need the farther spaced out pcie slots. but i can not have any red coloring.

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can turn off the LEDs once you install all of the Gigabyte software to control the motherboard functions.

Question 3

Can you remove the black i/o cover that says G1 gaming on it not the plate that snaps into the case- Thanks?

Accepted Answer

I believe so, after looking at my board I see 1 Philips screw on each side of the black I/O cover and there is a small tab that probably needs to be pushed out once you have the screws out.

Question 4

These boards are saying 32gbs for the USB 3.1 - can someone break down what 32gbs of bandwidth means? USB 3.1 operating at 16gbs(lower tier Gigabyte boards) is a lot, let alone 32gbs and you don't see any Asus or MSI boards saying ANYTHING like this at all - is Gigabyte really this far ahead of the curve?

Accepted Answer

It's probably something to do with max bandwidth not ACTUAL results. You'd need some pretty fast hardware connected to that port to even reach that number.

Question 5

Does this come with the 2x copper pcb design?

Accepted Answer

I do not see this listed anywhere. It seems from my observations that models that end in "-UD3" & "-UD5" are the Gigabyte models with the 2x coper design, which does not include this model. I still like and use this board though.

Question 6
