CPU fan connector is located across from the back hinge of ZIF lever near vented access port. If you place your finger on the hinge (that seats the CPU) and move over the air duct to the edge of the board parallel to the hinge, the connector is near the vent cover on outside edge of board.

Yes I believe it will, as the board comes with the Asus SLI cable for Nvidia cards packaged with it. I currently have 2 Ati 6970's installed in mine and there is plenty of space between the cards.

What's the difference between the Mark1 and Mark2?  Are you really just paying an extra $70 for body armor basically?

Yes, in a sense. The thermal armor enables you to place two mini assistance fans. They reduce dust build up, and distribute cool air over the motherboard. I have been using this motherboard for about a week now, the temperatures stay at decent levels and I stress it a lot with hardcore gaming. So I really recommend this if you have the extra cash. Plus the armor makes it look just awesome.

WHAT IS THE BEST MEMORY TO USE WITH THIS BOARD?

It will take just about any ddr3 ram. With the MemOk button it will even try to make mismatched sticks work together (Haven't tried it but that's what Asus says), so I wouldn't say there is a best type of ram per say. In the manual there are several pages just devoted to compatible ram so it will be hard to find anything that doesn't work. Just pick a brand you like, there really aren't any more bad ram manufacturers out there anymore. Though ignore paying more for higher MHz sticks. Linus tech tips on you tube did an analysis of ram and their different frequencies and there is only about a 1% difference between 800mHz and 2400mHz. (It won't let me link the video but if you search it, it will be the first result).

The short answer: Pick whichever brand you like in the color you like and the capacity you want and that is the best ram for this board haha

Yes. No motherboard that I have ever seen has come with a cooling system for the processor. It does however have 2 small fans that cool off the motherboard. If you are going with air cooling I recommend a noctua. If water cooling and you dont know what you are doing the corsair h100i is a good starter.

I bought this board @ am using it with a 7090K processor @ an MSI GTX 970 video card, Corsair 1866mhz Vengeance DDR3 memory. I installed Windows 7, 64 bit along with a raid. After window installs I get a message that Windows could not complete the installation. Do I need a processor with a integrated graphics ?

Hello jack I brought this board about 6 months I got the same processor and a 770 gtx... Honestly I got a lot of problems using windows 7 64x that's why I change to 8.1... I know it's not a great OS but my problems goes when I change to 8.1 the only problem here is as soon as possible download and install the latest bios don't matter if your hhd had a raid or not.. just install the latest bios then install the OS and in the future never install the bios again leave it like that..that can cause a brick on your OS even if this one is 7 or 8.1

No. This motherboard has an LGA 1150 socket for CPU's. The CPU you're asking about is a LGA 1155 socket type, so it is not compatible.

Hi,

I own the Z79 version of the motherboard and have been plagued by the plate on the back side of the CPU socket preventing aftermarket coolers from being screwed in properly. I don't see the plate on the picture of the back of the board provided on newegg (it is silver on the Z79 one) but I want to double check with someone that actually owns this board before I purchase this for my upgrade to devil's canyon. Thanks?

Find a view of the bottom of the mother board, I don't remember a silver plate.
 I was going to use the Megahalems cooler that came off my Quad core Extreme with 775 socket, but the holes in the bracket that came with the cooler did not match up. I can order just the bracket for the 1150 socket but I was in a hurry to get my system together.
So I used the factory cooler that came with my i7 quad core 4770K cpu and it cools amazing well it idles at 87F and with a load have not went above 140F. so until it becomes a problem I am staying with the intel cooler. No need to overclock yet...
 The top cover is used like duct work and channels air over HOT spots and you have full fan control with the included software.
 The MB has run flawless for me and I don't regret paying the 249.00. my last MB was the ASUS Striker II socket 775, good MB but was hard to keep cool. Northbridge stayed flaming hot and would shut down. No problems with the Sabertooth Mark 1 after I got the fans optimized. software monitors and gives more fan speed when it is needed.

I believe the back bracket would need to have built in standoffs to fit most MB's the problem might be with the cooler you pick more than the MB.

Asus has OEM's build their motherboards. They currently use Cal-Comp, ECS, Global-Brands Manufacture, and Info-Tek Corp. Do some research to find where they are located....probably Taiwan, but not sure. Personally, I had a problem with my Sabertooth. And NewEgg only allows returns at their discretion. Asus support is a joke. The Sabertooth has the "TUF" designator, but it really is just a mid level board. I would look elsewhere if I were you.
