Noctuas DX line CPU coolers have become a default choice in premium grade quiet cooling solutions for Intel Xeon processors. The NH-U14S DX-4677 features a larger, custom-designed contact surface for LGA4677 platforms. Based on the proven, 140mm size NH-U14S heatsink and equipped with two of Noctuas award-winning, PWM controlled NF-A15 140mm fans, it combines maximum performance and superb acoustics. Topped off with the professional SecuFirm2 mounting system and pre-applied NT-H1 thermal compound, the NH-U14S DX-4677 forms a complete premium quality package for quietly cooling LGA4677 based Xeon workstations and servers. Please note that the NH-U14S DX-4677 is a dedicated version for the Intel LGA4677 socket.

Due to its customised larger base, it cannot be used on smaller sockets and is incompatible with Noctuas mounting kits for these sockets. Please refer to our socket compatibility overview for details. Please also note that installing an LGA4677 processor and heatsink requires a plastic CPU carrier frame. These carrier frames are included with boxed retail CPUs and available separately via Intel sales partners for tray type CPUs. As different CPUs require different carrier frame types (E1A, E1B or E1C), please make sure to purchase the correct carrier frame for tray type CPUs.

The Noctua NH-U14S DX-4677 is a dual-fan tower air cooler for Intel Xeon LGA4677 processors, suited to quiet workstations used for audio/video production, engineering, and other noise-sensitive work.

    Recommended For

    • Xeon workstation builders doing audio/video production, content creation, or engineering in noise-sensitive rooms who want an air cooler designed for LGA4677.
    • Workstation and server operators using supported Xeon Scalable or Xeon W processors who prefer PWM-controlled air cooling over a liquid-cooling setup.
    • Builders cooling a high-power Xeon W system who want a large air cooler with performance tested on demanding LGA4677 workloads.
    • System integrators assembling LGA4677 workstations who value a product-specific mounting kit, pre-applied thermal compound, and an included installation tool.

    Real-World Use Scenarios

    • For a Xeon tower workstation used for audio or video production, content creation, or engineering, it is positioned to keep CPU cooling noise low during work in noise-sensitive spaces.
    • During sustained CPU-heavy work, such as rendering or engineering workloads, testing with a 250W Xeon showed the cooler sustaining high boost clocks under a roughly 230–240W stress load; results will depend on the specific CPU, power settings, and case.
    • When building a quiet LGA4677 Xeon workstation in a tower case, this cooler offers an air-cooling option; check cooler clearance and case airflow first, since its size and airflow direction may not suit every chassis.
    • For a workstation that spends much of its time lightly loaded, PWM fan control is intended to reduce fan speed when cooling demand is low, then increase it as CPU work ramps up.
