Question 1

I bought this item, and it reads on my setup as an ATi Radeon HD 3000. I'm starting to think I got scammed because this card cant run Skyrim on minimum graphics. 2GB VRAM should be enough to run it on ultra. Am I just stupid or something?

Accepted Answer

Did you buy it from new egg? I bought mine from them and it works fine. Make sure you have the correct drivers and download them directly from amd also be sure your old drivers for the old card are fully uninstalled. Hopefully this helps

Question 2

Can I use this card in a crossfire with MSI R7 260 1GD5 OC 1GB 128-Bit?

Accepted Answer

rhose two cards can crossfire together. Just make sure it is compatible with your mobo and psu. I am running this card in crossfire setup with a Saphire 7790.

Question 3

does this card use less that 300W?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It shouldn't use more than 150 watts under full load.

Question 4

Does this card need to be plugged in to a power supply? If so what wattage is needed?

Accepted Answer

While I'm not sure on what wattage it requires I know it does need a 6 pin connection to the power supply.

Question 5

Will this card be compatible with ASUS P6T-Deluxe V2 Motherboard with PCI-E 2.0 x 16 Graphic slot?

Accepted Answer

I do have enough space to fit the double height card, the MB has three PCI-E 2.0x16 slots. And the MB is the second edition of this board(Version 2). What do you mean by "has to have pic x2" ?

Question 6

Will this work with PCIe 2.0? I'm looking to get a AM3+ Processor and want to run dual graphics. to my understanding it will just clock down to 2.0 correct?

Accepted Answer

Yes runs fine on an PCI 2 with FX8350 chip with a ASUS M4A88T-M MB. Able to run Borderlands 1 at Ultra Res and SWTOR at high res.

Question 7

This is also adding on to my previous question, but will I be able to overclock my CPU & GPU in my build? Details of the build in last question I asked, but I have a 500watt PSU.

Accepted Answer

I don't know about your cpu but the r7260x comes with its own software for overclocking it.

Question 8

Will this card run fine with my 500w PSU? This is my build - FX-6300, hyper TX3 cooler, Arctic Silver thermal, ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 ATX mobo, G.Skill Ripjaws 1866 DDR3, 3.5" 1TB Barracuda HDD, (this card), Thermaltake AM3 AMD Edition case, EVGA 500w 80+ PSU, ASUS DRW drive, 8.1 64-bit OS, TREDnet usb3 wi-fi adapter, 2 Cooler Master SickleFlow fans, and 1 Rosewill RFA-120 fan.
I have heard I need it, but I see people with this PSU running R9 280's and up, confused since pcpartpicker says I need around 350w for the whole system, but I hear 500w is the minimum.

Accepted Answer

The rule of thumb with PSU's is to leave some breathing space. If it is 500W and has 80percent efficiency, it is actually only 400W going into your setup. I would go with a 550W PSU at the very least. As for the video card, it fits that build pretty well, although if you later added a second one for crossfire you would never have problems period.

Question 9

Can this graphics card both fit and work with the Alienware x51 R2? I'll be getting the 330w psu as well but im just trying to find the best card for the system

Accepted Answer

I am not familiar with an Alienware X51 R2. However, I do not recommend using a 330W PSU with this card. This card has a six pin power plug. That means it can pull a theoretical maximum of 225W (75W from the board, 150W from the power cable). That does not leave much room for the rest of your system. I would not use a PSU smaller than 500W to be safe, especially if you are using two cards.

Question 10

how many watts are needed for this card, it doesnt say?

Accepted Answer

According to the website PC Part Picker the Video card requires 115 watts to run but this does not include the CPU, Fans, CD Rom, HDD, ect ect... go with a 500 or 600 watt psu to make sure you can support your entire system. also note that overclocking the cpu will take more power and so will the more things you connect to the Power supply (PSU)
