Question 1

Does it matter that my computer graphics card and ram I'd ddr3 and this one I'd gddr5?

Accepted Answer

No. As long as you have a PCI express port to plug the card into (nearly all computers do) the ram type doesn't matter. It is all contained on the graphics card.

Question 2

Does this card have a DisplayPort conn? The Nvidia Web site says no.

Thanks!

Accepted Answer

Yes it does. I have 3 monitors and the card has 1 port for dvi, hdmi, and the display port. So i had to get three different cables. Kind of excessive but it works. So long story yes

Question 3

Is this a lot better than the Nvidia Geforce 8500GT?

Accepted Answer

It's hard to directly compare the two since they where released so far apart (2007 vs 2014), and there's no side-by-side benchmarks.

That being said, the GTX 750 is definately waaay faster than a 8500GT. The 8500GT only has 16 CUDA Cores @ 450 Mhz, vs the GTX 750 which has 512 CUDU Cores @ 1020 Mhz.

Question 4

How many watts does this card really require while in use? thanks

Accepted Answer

The card get it's power from the PCI 16x slot. No additional power is required to power the card. I am currently only using the card as a Physics card in my computer. If this is the only card you will be running in your computer? You should be alright running 450w power supply. I am using a EVGA GeForce GTX 760 OC 4GB as my main video card with a Ultra 1050w power supply in my computer.

Question 5

will this work on windows 7?

Accepted Answer

Yes it will work on Windows 7 64-bit. Operation system compatibility is mostly based on the availability of drivers. Nvidia bundles most of their drivers into 1 package; and the latest package includes the GTX 750, which you can find on Nvidia's website (Driver 350.12 as of this writing).

Question 6

Hi
since this card has HDMI can i hook it from PC to HDTV and watch movies from my PC?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. The one thing you would need to do is; when you download the driver for the card, just make sure that you check the box stating that you wish to install a part of the driver software dealing with the HD Audio or HDMI audio compatibility. Something relating to that. Should you do this, the audio will transmit through the HDMI cable without you having to hook up another audio cable. If you follow this, the card will effectively do what you need it to do. Hope I helped!

Question 7

Will this work with Pci express 1.0 ?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it should work, however I have heard of cases where a particular motherboard's BIOS lacked support.

The definitive source on all things PCI Express (PCI-SIG) states that all PCIe 3.0 devices be compatible with 2.0 and 1.0 devices. I'd share a link to the pcisig website, but NewEgg doesn't allow it. Here is a summary from the PCIe 3.0 FAQ:

Q: Will PCIe 3.0 products be compatible with existing PCIe 1.x and PCIe 2.x products?

A: PCI-SIG is proud of its long heritage of developing compatible architectures and its members have consistently produced compatible and interoperable products. In keeping with this tradition, the PCIe 3.0 architecture is fully compatible with prior generations of this technology, from software to clocking architecture to mechanical interfaces. That is to say PCIe 1.x and 2.x cards will seamlessly plug into PCIe 3.0-capable slots and operate at their highest performance levels. Similarly, all PCIe 3.0 cards will plug into PCIe 1.x- and PCIe 2.x-capable slots and operate at the highest performance levels supported by those configurations.

Question 8

can this play games at 60 fps 1080p?

Accepted Answer

Yes, to an extent. As with any video card, there are always limitations. This can handle some pretty extreme games as long as you have the cpu, RAM, and processing power to back it up. In other words, if you have about an i3 or greater processor with at least somewhere between 4 and 8 gigs of RAM, you should be good to go to play whatever you'd like to play.

Question 9

I just ordered these parts (including this one)-
-1.5 TB Seagate Hard Drive (don't know what model)
-Hec CT series 6T10LOH585 MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case with HP585W Power Supply
-AMD A10-5800K Trinity QuadCore 3.9 Ghz (4.2 Ghz OC)Processor
-MSI A78M-E35 FM2+ / FM2 AMD A78 Motherboard
-Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB RAM 240-pin

What do you guys think I can play on this, doesn't matter what settings as long is they are higher than ultra low, with getting a solid 45 FPS?

Accepted Answer

I personally was able to run Battlefield 4, at about 40 fps near Ultra without all that many problems. (this was on a test build with a PC running an i3 2120 (which is a dual-core BUT multi-threaded, so technically a quad-core).
Also ran World of Warcraft at max settings with around 35-40 fps out of raids, but 60+ while inside raids.

With this card, if you play on the Lowest of Low settings anything will run insanely well.

Also maxxed settings on Warframe with that card, and never dropped under 60fps.

Question 10

What is the watts using it?

Accepted Answer

According to my readings, my whole computer uses ~80 to 100 watts at full load. I am using an Intel Core i3-4130 as my CPU. The 12 volt rail is only running at about 60-80 watts or so so this thing is extremely efficient (as is the i3 CPU). Of course these readings are only approximate, but I've been running this computer on a 250 watt power supply very comfortably for over a month now (I should add that I have 2 monitors hooked up the the computer's power supply as well; adding a total of 60 watts to the PSU).
