This SAS HBA card is compatible with LSI 9300-8i and uses the SAS3008 controller. It runs in HBA IT Mode for pass-through, JBOD, software RAID, ZFS, TrueNAS, unRAID, Proxmox, ESXi, home-lab, and NAS storage builds. The host interface is PCIe 3.0 x8, with 2x internal SFF-8643 connectors. It supports direct attach for up to 8 drives and can be expanded through a compatible SAS expander. This kit includes 1x HBA card and 2x SFF-8643 to SFF-8482 SAS cables. The included cables are for SAS drives only and are not compatible with SATA drives. To connect SATA drives, use SFF-8643 to 4x SATA breakout cables sold separately, or choose a matched HBA + SATA cable kit. This product is an HBA IT Mode controller, not a hardware RAID controller.
