Description
The PCIe x8 BCM57840 Quad-10G SFP+ Server NIC is a sixth-generation Converged controller designed for high-volume, converged LAN on motherboard(LOM) and converged network adapter applications, enables PCI SIG single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV),Iscsi,FCoE, DCB, on-chip TOE, and RDMA. The Converged controller support PCIe TM3.0 along with Embedded Virtual Bridging and other switching technologies for high-performance direct memory access (DMA) and Virtual machine(VM) to VM switching.
Specification
• Compliant with PCI Express Revision 3.0 and backward compliant with PCIe2.0 and 1.1
l Quad-port 10Gbase-KR/SFF-8431(SFP+) interface for 1Gbps/10Gbps operation
• Supports jumbo frames (also known as extended frames), permitting up to a 9K byte (KB) transmission unit (MTU) when running Ethernet I/O traffic.
• Supports MSI and MSI-X.
• Single-Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) provides a mechanism to bypass the host system hypervisor in virtual environments providing near metal performance and server efficiency.
• Support for I/O Virtualization support for VMware NetQueue and Microsoft VMQ help meet the performance demands of consolidated virtual workloads.
• Support Checksum and Segmentation Offload capabilities
• Supports IPv6, IPv6 uses 128-bit addressing allowing for more devices and users on the internet.
• Support RSS capabilities, RSS enables packet receive-processing to scale with the number of available processors
• Supports Precision Time Protocol-ready (PTP)
• Support for NIC teaming helps IT administrators increase network fault tolerance and increased network bandwidth, The team of adapters can work together as a single virtual adapter.
• Support for several different types of teaming enabling IT administrators to optimize availability, improve performance and help reduce costs.
• The PCIe x8 Network Card is a validated, tested, and qualified solution, support for Server Integration
• Each BCM57840 ships with a suite of operating system-tailored configuration utilities that allow the user to enable initial diagnostics and configure adapter teaming,
• Support for scripted installations of teams in a Microsoft Windows environment allow for unattended OS installations.>
• Support PXE
• Support VMware NetQueue and Windows Hyper-V VMQ
• Support Insight Manager (SIM) and SNMP
• Drivers for Windows XP/Vista/Win7 / Win server2003/Win8 / Win10 / Vista / Sever2008 / Sever 2012 / Linux2.2 and above
