Question 1

Should I choose the StarTech ARMSLMBARDUO or the Ergotron LX Dual for two monitors?

Accepted Answer

Choose the StarTech ARMSLMBARDUO if you want a shared crossbar with synchronized height adjustment or need support for displays up to 32 inches and 17.6 lb each. The Ergotron LX Dual is designed for more independent positioning of each monitor and supports up to 20 lb per arm; Ergotron lists 27 inches as the typical maximum size for side-by-side placement. Check monitor dimensions and desk clearance before choosing either mount.

Question 2

Is the StarTech ARMSLMBARDUO better than a pole-style dual monitor stand?

Accepted Answer

Choose the ARMSLMBARDUO if you want to raise or lower both screens together using its shared crossbar and handle. A pole-style stand such as the VIVO STAND-V032 provides height adjustment along a center pole and a wider stated tilt range. Both support displays up to 32 inches, but the VIVO is rated for 22 lb per screen versus 17.6 lb for the StarTech.

Question 3

StarTech ARMSLMBARDUO or VIVO STAND-V032: which suits heavier monitors?

Accepted Answer

The VIVO STAND-V032 has the higher stated per-monitor capacity at 22 lb, compared with 17.6 lb for the StarTech. Both support monitors up to 32 inches. Choose the StarTech if synchronized height adjustment on a shared crossbar matters more; choose the VIVO if either monitor exceeds 17.6 lb but stays within its 22 lb limit.

Question 4

Can I rotate the monitors to portrait orientation or adjust their height?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each display can rotate 360 degrees, tilt and swivel, and the crossbar allows synchronized height adjustment. The mount is designed for side-by-side screens; confirm that your desk has enough space for the monitors and their movement.

Question 5

Who is this dual monitor arm best suited for?

Accepted Answer

It suits desk-based work that benefits from two side-by-side monitors, adjustable viewing positions, and more clear desk surface. Its main constraints are compatibility requirements: each monitor must meet the VESA, size, and weight limits, and the desk must accommodate the clamp or grommet installation.

Question 6

Will the mount fit my desk, and does it need a hole?

Accepted Answer

It can attach with a desk-edge clamp or grommet hardware, so a pre-existing desk hole is not required for the clamp option. The clamp supports desk thicknesses from 0.39 to 3.35 inches; the grommet mount supports thicknesses from 0.39 to 1.89 inches.

Question 7

Can this mount hold two 32-inch monitors?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it supports two monitors from 17 to 32 inches, with a maximum weight of 17.6 lb per monitor. Each monitor must have a 75 × 75 mm or 100 × 100 mm VESA mounting pattern; check both screen size and weight before buying.
