Question 1

Should I get the FP315W9 or Kensington’s 31.5-inch MagPro filter?

Accepted Answer

Choose the FP315W9 for a fixed installation using tabs or double-sided tape. Choose the 31.5-inch MagPro if you expect to attach and remove the filter frequently: it uses a magnetic strip and is designed for slim-bezel or edge-to-edge displays. Both are 31.5-inch, 16:9 filters with reversible matte and glossy viewing options.

Question 2

Kensington FP315W9 or 3M PF315W9B for a 31.5-inch monitor?

Accepted Answer

Both are 31.5-inch, 16:9 privacy filters with reversible matte and glossy sides. Choose the Kensington FP315W9 if its included tab holders or double-sided tape suit your installation; choose the 3M PF315W9B if its stated U.S. manufacture and hand-inspection are priorities. Check the mounting method and fit for your monitor before buying.

Question 3

Will the FP315W9 fit a 27-inch monitor?

Accepted Answer

Do not assume it will. The model code FP315W9 is listed as a 31.5-inch, 16:9 privacy screen, while the supplied product title says 27 inches. Check the exact model and your monitor’s visible screen dimensions before buying; the listed filter dimensions are 27.44 × 15.43 inches.

Question 4

Who is this privacy screen suitable for?

Accepted Answer

It may suit people using a compatible widescreen monitor in a shared workspace who want to reduce side viewing of on-screen information. It is not a substitute for locking the computer or protecting information from someone viewing the screen head-on.

Question 5

How is the privacy screen attached to the monitor?

Accepted Answer

The FP315W9 can be mounted with its frameless tab holders or double-sided tape. The product information does not establish that it attaches magnetically, so check the included mounting method if easy removal is important.

Question 6

How much side-view privacy does this screen provide?

Accepted Answer

The FP315W9 is specified to limit the viewing angle to about 30 degrees on either side of center. It is intended to make the display harder to read from the sides, but it does not prevent someone directly behind the user from seeing the screen.
