Question 1

Is the FP300W10 worth adding if I don’t need screen privacy?

Accepted Answer

The FP300W10 is intended to restrict side viewing, so it fits work where people nearby should not see the display. If you regularly share the screen with people beside you and don’t need that privacy, a standard monitor without a privacy filter is the more suitable choice.

Question 2

Kensington FP300W10 or 3M PF300W1B for a 30-inch 16:10 monitor?

Accepted Answer

Both are made for 30-inch, 16:10 monitors and limit side viewing. Choose the Kensington FP300W10 if its included tab-holder or tape installation options and reversible matte/glossy sides suit your setup. Choose the 3M PF300W1B if you prefer 3M’s filter, which is listed as made in the USA and TAA compliant. Confirm your monitor’s active-screen dimensions and aspect ratio before buying.

Question 3

Should I get the Kensington FP300W10 or FP270W10?

Accepted Answer

Choose the FP300W10 for a 30-inch 16:10 monitor and the FP270W10 for a 27-inch 16:10 monitor. They are different sizes, so match the filter to the monitor’s screen size and aspect ratio rather than choosing by price or model number alone.

Question 4

Can I use it to reduce glare during office work?

Accepted Answer

The FP300W10 has an anti-reflective coating and reversible matte and glossy sides. The matte side is intended to reduce glare; the glossy side provides a clearer viewing option. Results can vary with room lighting and monitor placement.

Question 5

Will this privacy screen fit my monitor?

Accepted Answer

It is designed for a 30-inch monitor with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Check your monitor’s screen dimensions and aspect ratio before buying; diagonal size alone may not confirm a fit.

Question 6

How does it attach to the monitor?

Accepted Answer

The listed installation options are frameless tab holders or double-sided tape. Choose the option that suits your monitor setup and whether you want to remove the screen regularly.

Question 7

Does it help keep people nearby from seeing my screen?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The FP300W10 narrows the viewing angle to about 30 degrees on either side, helping limit side views. It is intended to protect against people viewing from the sides, not from directly behind you.
