what's the spacing of the arms? can this fit 27" widescreens?

I'm using dual 32" LG Monitors on mine. Did have to buy the converter kits for the holes on the back, but the stand does hold them just fine once mounted.

How low can the stand adjust to?

It's a straight pole, using a clamp to set the height, so the entire height of the pole is available. The cable organizers shown just wrap around the pole and can be placed anywhere. You could put the bottom of the monitors on the desk if you wanted to.
