Question 1

Is the MONSTND a good upgrade if my monitor’s included stand sits too low?

Accepted Answer

The MONSTND can raise a monitor by 4.9, 5.9, or 6.9 inches without requiring a VESA mount, making it a practical option when the included stand does not provide enough height adjustment. Choose it only if the monitor is no larger than 32 inches and weighs no more than 22 lb; the riser itself does not let you freely reposition the screen.

Question 2

MONSTND or a simple fixed-height monitor riser: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

Choose the MONSTND if you want to select among three preset heights or value its cable-management slots and steel-and-aluminum construction. A fixed-height riser is a simpler fit if one elevation works for your setup and you do not need those adjustment options. The MONSTND’s listed heights are 4.9, 5.9, and 6.9 inches.

Question 3

Should I get the StarTech MONSTND or a monitor arm?

Accepted Answer

Choose the MONSTND if you want a stable desktop shelf with three preset heights, cable-management slots, and room underneath for small items. Choose a monitor arm if you need to reposition the screen frequently or reclaim more desk surface; check that your monitor supports the arm’s VESA mounting pattern and that your desk works with its clamp or mount. The MONSTND supports one display up to 32 inches and 22 lb.

Question 4

Is there room underneath the stand for desk accessories?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The raised platform creates space underneath for small desk items, and the product page describes using that space for items such as a mouse or phone. Measure your items against the chosen stand height; the exact under-platform clearance is not specified.

Question 5

Does the stand require assembly?

Accepted Answer

Some assembly is required. StarTech.com describes setup as requiring little assembly, and the package includes the stand components, screws, a hex key, and a quick-start guide.

Question 6

How high does the stand raise a monitor?

Accepted Answer

The stand has three height settings: 4.9, 5.9, or 6.9 inches above the desk. It suits users who want a few fixed height choices; it does not provide continuous height adjustment.

Question 7

What size and weight monitor can this stand support?

Accepted Answer

The StarTech.com MONSTND supports one monitor up to 32 inches and 22 lb (10 kg). Check the monitor’s weight and whether its base fits the stand’s 16 × 10.5-inch surface before buying.
