This says it is 330 wats, but the original is 180w so will it fry my computer?

I have actually used this on not only my m18x but also on an alienware 18 and a super tiny alienware 15. It has also worked on a dell inspiron. They all use the same tip from dell. I have never noticed any issues and can only assume the brick is throttling the appropriate power for the device =)

Would this work with an Alienware Alpha R2? I put it under a lot of intense use when gaming, no overclocks, but the PSU overheats and shuts down after a couple hours every once and a while, I know it's not the CPU or GPU because GPU temp stays under 80° and CPU under 80° as well. I really can't afford to send the system in because I also use it for work.

Yes. I replaced the original PSU on my R2 with this and haven't had a shutdown since.

Will this work with the alienware x51?

Yes, using it on my x51 R2 right now. Haven't has any issues. Running an Intel i7-4790K and a Sapphire Radeon RX 470 4GB.
