Is this compatible with Mac or Linux?

I use this scanner with a mac OS. I don't see why it wouldn't work with linux.

I think it's 1D only. We use them for 1D only and I don't see anything about 2D in the manual. The scan is a line and not a rectangular area like most 2D ones that I've used. The already nice price would become amazingly low if it did do 2D!
