- Answer: The function of reading a drivers license is the ability of the scanner to parse the data. Datalogic 2D scanners have program that will allow you to do that with this scanner in the set up. It takes a few steps to make it work. Some scanners like the Honeywell 1400G2D-2USB-EZ or 1950GSR-2-EZ-Nboth have the eEasy DL software built in (Easy DL stands for Easy Drivers license software). The Datalogic QD2430-BKK1 QuickScan handheld barcode scanner is black, comes with a USB cable, and can be used to scan and decode linear one-dimensional (1D), two-dimensional (2D), and Portable Document Format 417 (PDF417) barcodes.
