- Using Battery: Using Six (6) NiMh AA cells, this will provide 7.2V to the radio. If you install 6 AA Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, it will provide 9V and the radio will not go into transmit. If you must use Alkaline or Zinc Carbon cells, use five of them and a dummy AA, this will set the output voltage to 7.5V. Note: all voltages quoted are for open circuit.
