Question 1

Has this PSU been reliable for you and does it power all your parts easily?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this power supply has been reliable. It powers everything in system easily. Which is i5 2500K, GTX670 4GB, 16GB RAM, 3 HDDs, 1 SSD, and 1 ODD. I usually game for 3-6 hours a night, and more on weekends. The one minor down side to this psu is it does have a higher pitch whine to it. For me its hard to hear over the case fans, but if you have a quieter build this may be an issue.

Question 2

I purchased the AX760 PSU and I have a new Cooler Master case. My question is does the fan face up or down in the bottom of my case? My case has a vent & filter on the bottom.

Accepted Answer

I put my can facing upward. Mainly for the reason my PC was originally sitting on the floor (carpet) and didn't want anything to overheat. I would always have it pointing in towards the case and not towards the outside.

Question 3

There is a switch on the inside of the PSU marked for Hybrid and Normal fan settings. What is that switch for? What do the two modes do?

Accepted Answer

Hybrid allows the PSU to operate with minimal cooling from the fan by reducing rpm's, which in turn will reduce noise levels. I've seen on some reviews where the supply can run in a silent mode until a demand of 70% is required. Depending on how you use your computer, that may be a desired effect. But.... I would "assume", with no fan spinning to push the heat out the back of your case.. the power supply will increase the ambient temperature inside your computer.

Question 4

Is it ok to plug only one pci-e power cable that has two 6+2 pin connectors on it or should I use one separate six pin and one separate 8 pin to power the Radeon R9 390? This is the first time i'm seeing pci-e cables that have two connectors on one cable.

Accepted Answer

I would think you would be fine using cable with the 6+2 connectors. If they will fit the socket they will work. Verify the fit carefully. However if you fry it I am not responsible! :)

Question 5

If this works for Haswell does it work for Skylake? thanks

Accepted Answer

Power supplies generally don't care about what hardware they're powering, so long as you're staying within the wattage they can provide.

Essentially, there is no reason as to why it wouldn't work perfectly fine for Skylake. (Or any other generation of any other CPU, for that matter)

Question 6

how long is the ac power power cable?

Accepted Answer

Not sure as I have so many but I think it's average length, about 5 FT. And if I remember correctly it was a little heavier than most.

Question 7

I was wondering if this would work with the msi gtx 770 4gb overclocked version?

Accepted Answer

Yes it will.. I have mine overclocked and it works just fine, You can't even tell the different. I love this power supply fan so quite can't even tell.

Question 8

Intel LGA1151 7th/6th Generation Z270 processors?

Accepted Answer

This is an excellent power supply in that the automatic fan rarely kicks on (only with high load gaming use from my experience). The fan can be switched to manual if needed. An LGA1151 Z270 processor would not tax this power supply, but it depends on what else you are running. Do your calculations and choose between 760W and 860W. Normal computer use yields very little heat. I own 5 of them and have been very happy with all.

Question 9

Does this power supply come with any molex connectors/adapters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Not sure the exact quantity, but it comes with plenty of Molex and SATA connectors.

Question 10

How are the cable lengths for a bottom-mount orientation in a mid-tower case? Does it inhibit good cable organization (i.e. reaching over PCIe cards vs reaching around the edge of motherboard)? Do the SATA power cables reach to the very top 5 1/4 slot with ease?

Accepted Answer

I'm using a 750D (full tower) rather than a mid-tower, but with the length of the cables, I'm having no problems. The length and modularity helps make cable management much easier. Only thing I can't comment on is 5.25" bays, since I don't have any optical drives in my system.
