The 8-Outlet Switched Rack PDU (Power Distribution Unit) from APC provides an ideal solution to many of the power management problems seen in IT environments. These problems include unauthorized use of power outlets, locked-up equipment, in-rush current, overloaded circuits, and the need of remote access to power outlets in the rack. The Switched Rack PDU addresses these problems through individual outlet control, power on and off delays, current monitoring, alarm thresholds, and network management. With user-definable individual outlet control, it allows you to turn outlets on or off, or recycle power to equipment, which can reboot locked-up equipment and avoid unauthorized use of outlets. Power delays allow you to determine the order in which equipment is powered up or down. With remote network management capabilities, this switched rack PDU allows users to access, configure, and manage units from remote locations via Web, SNMP and Telnet to save time. Featuring a 19-inch rack-mountable form factor, the Switched Rack PDU remotely controls power to individual outlets and monitors the aggregate power consumption.
