Installed in any available PCIe 3.0 x4 (or x8 / x16) slot, it adds a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-E header delivering up to 20Gbps of dedicated bandwidth so your high-speed Type-C enclosure finally runs at the speed you paid for.

Engineered Around the ASM3242 Controller

At the heart of the card is the ASMedia ASM3242 host controller, a proven solution for USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 host applications. It is natively supported by Windows 10 and Windows 11, which means no driver disc, no download, no setup install the card, connect your cable, and you're done.

Performance You Can Verify

In our internal test with a 20Gbps Type-C NVMe enclosure, the card measured 2077 MB/s read and 2057 MB/s write (CrystalDiskMark 8.0.1, SEQ1M Q8T1, 2GiB, 5 passes). That is roughly twice the ceiling of a 10Gbps port and four times that of a standard USB 3.0 port. The card is fully backward compatible, so 10Gbps and 5Gbps enclosures work as well they simply run at their own rated speeds.

Built for Continuous, Stable Operation

• High-capacity solid capacitors improve filtering and reduce ripple during sustained transfers.
• Resettable fuse automatically cuts off overcurrent to protect both the card and the connected drive, then recovers once the fault clears.
• 4-layer PCB with immersion gold (ENIG) better signal integrity at 20Gbps and long-term resistance to oxidation.

Compact Enough for Small Builds

The board measures just 82 x 44 mm and weighs 48g, so it installs cleanly in small form factor cases without blocking a graphics card or restricting airflow. Both a full-height bracket (120mm) and a low-profile bracket (80mm) are included, covering standard ATX towers, micro-ATX builds and SFF / HTPC chassis right out of the box.

Installation

1. Power down the system and disconnect the power cable.
2. Insert the card into an available PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot.
3. Connect your chassis front-panel Type-C cable to the Type-E (20-pin) header on the card.
4. Power on Windows will recognize the controller automatically.

Important Notes Before Ordering

• This card provides a Type-E (20-pin) internal header. A Type-E to Type-C cable or front-panel bracket cable is required to connect an external drive no cable is included in this package.
• Not compatible with PCIe x1 slots. Please confirm your motherboard has an available x4, x8 or x16 slot.
• Actual transfer speeds depend on the SSD, the enclosure's bridge controller and the cable quality. The figures quoted above were obtained under specific test conditions and are not guaranteed for every hardware combination.
