Not all USB-C ports support all functions of the USB Type-C standard. Make sure that the USB-C port of your notebook supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP-Alt modes) and USB Power Delivery (PD).
Video output capability depends on the graphics card of your notebook and the connected monitor. Certain graphics cards have limited multi-stream transport (MST) support, while some screens also limit the available resolution.
