    This PoE HAT (B) is a dedicated Power over Ethernet expansion accessory tailor-made for Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ and Raspberry Pi 4 Model B single-board computers. It enables the Raspberry Pi to obtain stable working power directly through an Ethernet network cable, eliminating the need for a separate wall power adapter and messy power cords, greatly simplifying the wiring layout for Raspberry Pi cluster, home server, network monitoring, NAS storage and smart gateway deployment.

    Strictly following the IEEE 802.3af global PoE industry standard, this module must be matched with a compliant 802.3af PoE network switch or passive PoE injector to supply 48V DC power over CAT5e/CAT6 Ethernet cable. The onboard high-efficiency DC-DC step-down conversion circuit safely converts 48V input voltage into the stable 5V working voltage required by the Raspberry Pi mainboard, with sufficient power output to support full-load operation of the Pi system plus external USB peripherals, SD cards and attached sensors.

    One core highlight of Version B PoE HAT is the integrated miniature cooling fan with intelligent temperature sensing function. The built-in temperature sensor monitors the real-time operating temperature of the Raspberry Pi chipset in real time: the fan remains stationary when the CPU temperature is low for silent running, and automatically turns on and adjusts rotation speed as the temperature rises, effectively dissipating heat generated during long-term continuous operation, preventing CPU thermal throttling and performance drop under high load.

    It adopts a vertical stacked installation method, directly aligned and inserted onto the 40Pin GPIO pin header on the top of the Raspberry Pi, with reserved complete opening for the Ethernet port and USB ports of the mainboard, which will not block the original interfaces of the Raspberry Pi and reserves enough space for subsequent GPIO peripheral expansion. The internal power management circuit adds multiple layers of safety protection mechanisms including overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, reverse connection prevention and short-circuit protection, effectively avoiding hardware burnout caused by abnormal power supply voltage or wiring errors in long-running unattended scenarios.

After physical assembly, just plug the Ethernet cable coming from the PoE power supply device into the RJ45 port of the Raspberry Pi, and the board will automatically power on and start the system.
