Cons: -Bracket is extremely flimsy and required some bending before it would fit in my case expansion slot. Even after I had it mounted, I had to push and prod at the card before the PCIe slot contacts would touch, as my machine wasn't recognizing a card. The metal bracket costs pennies, so I've deducted one egg for this annoyance.
Overall Review: Yes. Plug and play, an internal header, great speeds.. dealing with a slightly cruddy bracket is worth it IMO.
Overall Review: I installed the card in the slot on my computer, installed driver. Device manager shows it working - in my Win 10 computer. When anything is connected to the ports - it seems to provide power to devices but that is it. Devices don't show up within OS - no sound of device attached/ recognized. Same device works grat connected to regular USB2 port on same computer.
Does not provide UAS or true USB 3.1 Gen 2 on systems compromised by MS Spectre/Meltdown updates2/6/2018 1:49:28 PM
Pros: Provides USB-C connectivity
Cons: I purchased this because my ASUS X99 Deluxe/U3.1 motherboard had UASP and USB Turbo mode crippled by the January 2018 MS security updates. I thought the card would provide me a workaround. Unfortunately, it didn't. The MS updates prevented the drivers for the card from installing the UAS and SuperSpeed Plus drivers. If you are hoping to retrieve some lost functionality, forget it. The only hope is to wait for Microsoft to fix their flawed patches.
Overall Review: Startech support said I should return the card, but I'm going to keep it for the USB-C connectivity. Maybe someday there'll be a fix for this madness.

Works great!10/25/2019 7:18:50 PM
Pros: USB ports and they all work. No bloated drivers. The card is small so if PCIE slots are lacking but you need USB ports, this one is probably the best choice if you absolutely have to have something partially interfering with the cooling on your video card like I did.
Cons: Nothing bad to report.
Overall Review: It's a good card and I've had previous success with other StarTech products before.
Transitioning to Windows 10, I didn't want to drop 7 immediately so with a recent upgrade to a z390 motherboard, onboard USB was out for 7 ( not touching modded drivers ) so I got this to keep 7 going until I get settled into 10. It works perfectly and I didn't notice any issues with the mouse or keyboard in gaming.
Easy way to add USB 3.1 capability to older computer8/9/2019 3:07:46 AM
Pros: Easy plug and play with automatic driver installation on Windows 7 64 bit computer. Back panel has 2 standard size USB ports and one USB type c port. Works very fast.
Cons: I had to bend the back panel bracket in order to get the PC card to fit snugly in the motherboard connector.
Overall Review: This ia an easy solution to add USB 3.1 capability to an older computer.
Pros: Worked on my mac Pro without installation of drivers.
Cons: never came with the 1 - SATA Power (15 pin) Plug which is needed to have usb bus power. Now I will have to place an additional order, buyer beware.
Pros: -Fast -Plug and play with Windows 10
Cons: -Bracket is extremely flimsy and required some bending before it would fit in my case expansion slot.
