StarTech 6ft 1.8m Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Cable 4K 60Hz with HBR3/HDCP 2.3/DPCP MDP to HDMI 2.0 Active Video Converter

The StarTech 6 ft Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI active adapter cable connects a Mini DisplayPort video source to an HDMI display, with support for up to 4K at 60Hz; it suits users who need a direct cable connection for a high-resolution screen.

Recommended For

• People using a desktop, workstation, or older laptop with Mini DisplayPort who need a direct cable connection to an HDMI monitor or TV, without adding a separate adapter or external power.
• Desk-based workers who want to use a compatible Mini DisplayPort workstation with a 4K HDMI monitor for office applications, coding, or other standard 60Hz workflows.
• Users connecting a Mini DisplayPort-equipped computer to an HDMI display for presentations or digital signage, when a single 6-foot connection is suitable.
• People replacing a basic or passive Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter who need an active converter for a compatible setup targeting up to 4K at 60Hz.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When a Mini DisplayPort workstation or laptop needs to drive an HDMI 4K monitor for everyday desk work, this cable provides a direct connection; 4K at 60 Hz is available when the computer and monitor also support it.
• When connecting a Mini DisplayPort computer to a 4K HDMI screen for a larger or extended workspace, the active cable can carry the video signal without a separate adapter; the computer’s display-output limits still apply.
• When a compatible laptop or workstation is connected to an HDMI-equipped TV for a presentation or video playback, the cable sends video and audio through the same connection; the display or computer may need to be selected as the audio output.
• When presenting from a Mini DisplayPort device in a room with an HDMI projector or display, the 6-foot cable provides a direct wired connection, provided the computer supports output to that display.
• When a 4K HDMI monitor only runs at 30 Hz with an older Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable, replacing it with this active HDMI 2.0 cable may allow 4K at 60 Hz—if the computer, port, and monitor support that mode.
