I thought passive HDMI cables were limited to 7 meters. How does this cable manage to maintain signal strength at 10 meters? (I really don't want to end up returning this because it doesn't work.)

I thought passive HDMI cables were limited to 7 meters.  How does this cable manage to maintain signal strength at 10 meters?  (I really don't want to end up returning this because it doesn't work.)
