My EV says “Charging equipment not recognized” or “No power”. Is the adapter defective?
Normal due to 24A safety limit. Replug firmly: outlet ? adapter ? charger ? vehicle. Charging starts within 30s
Adapter doesn’t fit my outlet
This adapter is only for NEMA 10-30R (3-prong, 30A). Check outlet shape. Not for 6-50, 14-30(4-prong dryer), or 10-50. See our plug chart.
Adapter sticks out too far
Molded body is 4.5 inches deep for safety. Do not force. For tight spaces, use a short NEMA 10-30 extension cord.
Charging slower than expected
Max output is 24A (not 40A/50A). Adds ~20-30 mi/hr. This safety feature protects older wiring. Not a defect.
Adapter Feels Warm During Use
Normal operation. Carrying 24A current generates heat, especially in a compact molded case. If the adapter becomes hot to the touch (>60°C/140°F), stop use immediately and inspect the wall outlet.
Charge at a maximum of 5.76kW(240V 24 Amp) with Tesla Portable Charger
Better Than DIY: This is much cost efficiency than building yourself, molded plug more safe than assembly plug, better than DIY and easy to use
