Gator Magnetics
What makes Gator Magnetics different?
Gator Magnetics uses patented magnetic technology that individually programs each magnetic pole for better magnetic efficiency on thin steel surfaces. The result is stronger, more reliable holding power than traditional magnetic hooks.
What’s the significance of thin steel?
Most steel in garages and shops is about 0.06? thick (16–29 gauge). We test our hooks on that same thin steel. Other hooks test on 0.5?–1.18? steel, so their ratings don’t reflect your space. Our ratings match the steel you actually use.
What’s the significance of shear force?
We use shear force testing, which measures the downward pull that happens when you hang something on a hook. Other hooks use pull force, which measures pulling the magnet straight off the steel. Shear force reflects how a hook is actually used.
What does the Easy-Release Lever do?
The Easy-Release Lever acts like an on/off switch for the magnet. Lift the lever to move the hook, then press it down to lock it in place. It gives you strong holding power when you need it and easy repositioning when you don’t.
What surface do Gator Hooks not work on?
Aluminum, higher-grade stainless steel, or steel with paint, heavy texture, or alloy coatings. If it doesn’t accept magnetic force, then it’s not a surface compatible with our products.
