Do they work on painted lime wall?
No, this kind of wall's surface has a weak and thin layer, when you hang a little heavy items or when you move the adhesive hook away from this surface, the strong adhesive layer of the hook will peel your walls.
Why on the same kind of surface, some hooks can hold a lot of weight, but other seems hold nothing or last only seconds?
If the surface with oil film , dust, or water film on( if you wipe it with wet wipe), when you apply the hooks on, the adhesive layer actually stick to oil film, dust layer or water film, not stick to the wall itself directly.
