Can this be used on any motherboard?

Because the TPM module encrypts data, I would buy the specific brand to avoid problems. Also, you may want to think about 'flashing' the BIOS/UEFI. I would assume the vast majority of motherboard manufacturers are starting to scramble and get their EPROMs up to date to allow for these TPM modules to get inserted and recognized properly to stop getting Help Desk calls. Start looking closely at your motherboard and see if the manufacturer makes a TPM module for it. If they do not, I would contact the motherboard manufacturer and ask them what TPM module will work on your motherboard. Make sure the pin count on the TPM module is the same (most modules are now 14 pin not 20 pin).
