Yes, it created a music CD (cda) from Mp3 files, and played a CD created on my old PC as well.  The resulting CD played on my stereo player. This answered the same question that I hadn't yet tested.

Yes, the keyboard and mouse in the picture are the ones included with the computer. Please note that the keyboard is smaller than it looks in the picture. I ended up buying a full-size keyboard (that cost only $15) because whenever I hit the shift key the caps lock key would also go down and lock into caps mode This Acer is a fantastic computer and a great value!.
