Thank you for contacting us in regards to your question.

The Lian Li Strimer connects via 5V ADD_HEADER RGB on your motherboard.  As long as your ASUS motherboard supports 5V ADD_HEADER/Addressable RGB, the Aura software should be able to detect and control the lighting.

Do these come with the 24 pin and 8 pin cable or do they just use a sleeve to attach at multiple points to your existing PSU cables?  If they have the cables, what color are they?  I can't tell if silver or white.

This as a complete 24 pin extension. The cables are white, and then on top of those white cables are the clear cables that spread around the light from the rgb led

Just wondering if both of the types of cables, 8 pin and 24 pin, connect to a individual controller hub, or if both need a separate one? Also want to know if these will be compatible with a NZXT H700i case?

I connect 24pin one directly to RGB header on my motherboard. By the way, 8 pin connector only reveals a very small part in the front of a motherboard. Do you really need 8 pin one?

I want to use this  for something custom im doing  in my computer do i have to connect this to my  24 pin existing computer cables to get it to light up . Can i just light it up with out having to connect it to my existent 24 pin.   I  want to use it on my computer as a light show  can this be done ?.

You have to give it power via your normal 24 pin power cable.  I don't think you can power it up any other way.

i have a 4 pin 12v motherboard rgb. can i use an adapter to make this work alongside my fans and strips?

Because these lights operate for a 5v addressable context, I would plug these straight into your motherboard's 4-pin addressable header. THEN find a way to plug the other items into the addressable headers as well. This would require you to have at least 2 headers. But you can also use a splitter into a single header if you need to.

So I pre-ordered 2 of these bad boys, received two in the mail the next day, and BOTH of them were missing the cable to plug into the addressable led connection on the motherboard :-/ Is anyone else missing the cable?? Or am i just that unlucky? The picture here clearly shows that there is supposed to be one in the box and so do the instructions....
