To prevent signal transients, NI-9205 provides overvoltage protection of up to 60 V between the input channel and the common terminal. In addition, the NI 9205 also has a dual channel ground isolation barrier, achieving safety, immunity, and a high common mode voltage range. It has an instantaneous overvoltage protection of 1000 Vrms.
