It features a USB A (male) connector that connects to the computer or Android device and a DB9 (male) connector that connects to a serial peripheral.

The U209-000-R works with Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, Server 2008, 8, 8.1, and Server 2012; Mac OS X 10.6 - 10.9; and Linux Redhat 7.3, 8.0 and 9.0 operating systems. The U209-000-R is also compatible with Android smartphones and tablets with USB Host Mode (OTG) support and Android OS version 3.2 and above. Note: Android devices require a USB Host Mode (OTG) cable (such as Tripp Lite's U052-06N) to connect the U209-000-R to the device.
