The SABRENT CB-DB9P USB 2.0 to Serial DB9 RS-232 Adapter Cable connects a USB 2.0 port to RS-232 serial equipment through a standard 9-pin DB9 male interface.

The serial end is a DB9 male plug with all nine pins wired and two fixed hex standoffs. It mates with a female DB9 socket. If your equipment has a male 9-pin port, you need a female-end cable instead.

This is a serial data cable. It does not carry VGA, HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort video, and it is not a printer, PS/2 or gameport adapter. The connected device must itself support RS-232 serial communication.
