I just tried to power this up. I bought it to plug into the USB port on the back of my DVR box I rent from Spectrum Cable. I tried both ports, and the fan never started. What am I missing? Sounds defective, right? I think I need to return unless someone tells me I've missed a step. The DVR box is powered on and running so it's not the box.

I used a phone charger to power this fan. Try one that is 5V 1A before you return it. The USB port on the DVR may only be 500mA. But you might not be happy with it anyway. Mine was very loud for a fan that size.
