The VIVO 1,000 ft Cat5e Ethernet cable is a bulk, connector-free UTP roll for home, office, or network installers who need to cut and terminate custom-length runs, including outdoor or direct-burial installations; its jacket is not rated for direct sunlight.
Recommended For
- DIY installers wiring a shed, outbuilding, or other separate location with a weather-protected, non-PoE Ethernet run and needing bulk cable they can cut and terminate to length.
- Home or small-office network builders who need a long outdoor or direct-burial data cable for devices that receive power separately rather than over Ethernet.
- Budget-conscious installers making custom-length, fixed network runs where the cable will be protected from direct sunlight and PoE is not required.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- Run a buried data connection from a house to a detached garage or shed, then connect it to equipment powered locally. It can provide a wired link where the home Wi‑Fi signal is unreliable; this CCA cable is not recommended for PoE devices.
- Use the bulk roll for several fixed, custom-length data runs during a home or office network installation. The pull box and unterminated cable let an installer cut runs to fit and add connectors or terminations as needed.
- Route a network connection outdoors to a camera that has its own power supply, rather than relying on the cable for PoE. A protected route can carry the data link, but the cable is not UV-rated, so keep it out of direct sunlight.
- Carry a wired data connection along a sheltered outdoor route, such as between a building and an exterior network enclosure. Keeping the cable in conduit or otherwise shielded from sunlight helps address its lack of a UV rating.
