This mini-sas adapter lets you convert two internal SFF-8643 ports on a controller card into two external SFF-8644 ports. This enables you to connect external SAS or SATA drives in devices such as a direct attached storage (DAS) device to an internal backplane or SAS controller for additional storage. The adapter is compatible with 12Gbps SAS drives as well as 6Gbps SATA drives.
