This 100-centimeter professional Gen5 MCIO 4i Slim SAS storage conversion cable is specially designed for enterprise servers, workstations, RAID expansion cards and data center storage systems, solving the interface conversion problem between motherboard MCIO SFF-8654 Slim SAS ports and U.2 SFF-8639 NVMe high-performance solid state drives. It fully complies with PCIe 5.0 (Gen5) and SAS 4.0 industrial specifications, supporting a single channel up to 32GT/s ultra-high bandwidth transmission, with zero bandwidth bottleneck, completely releasing the maximum read and write speed of Gen5 U.2 NVMe SSDs, and backward compatible with PCIe 4.0, PCIe 3.0 and SAS 3.0 protocols for downward compatibility with older generation storage devices.
One end adopts standard MCIO 4i (SFF-8654) Slim SAS 38Pin male connector to plug into the server motherboard, HBA RAID controller card or backplane Slim SAS interface; the other end is locked SFF-8639 U.2 female port to directly dock with 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe enterprise SSD. An extra branch is reserved with a SATA 15Pin 15-pin power supply terminal, which independently provides sufficient and stable power input for high-power U.2 solid state drives, avoiding insufficient power supply caused by long-distance wiring, preventing SSD throttling, abnormal drop-off and unrecognized disk faults under heavy load continuous writing.
The whole cable is wrapped with dense black nylon braided mesh sleeve, which not only improves bending resistance, wear resistance and anti-aging ability, but also forms a comprehensive electromagnetic shielding layer inside the wire harness. It strongly filters interference generated by server power supplies, cooling fans, graphics cards and other high-power hardware, greatly reducing high-frequency signal reflection, line loss, crosstalk and CRC data errors, ensuring long-term error-free and stable transmission of high-speed differential signals in complex cabinet environments. All contact pins are processed with thick gold plating, featuring ultra-low contact resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, with a service life of more than 2500 plugging and unplugging cycles.
The built-in high-purity oxygen-free copper conductor strictly controls high-frequency impedance parameters, matches the impedance requirements of Gen5 high-speed signal transmission, and the 1-meter customized length is suitable for medium-distance routing inside standard server chassis, stacked storage enclosures and JBOD disk arrays. The lockable buckle design on both connectors can firmly lock the ports, effectively preventing poor contact and accidental disconnection caused by cabinet vibration, equipment movement and regular maintenance operations, greatly improving the stability of the entire enterprise storage array.
