This 50-centimeter active OCuLink fan-out cable integrates internal signal boosting circuitry, specially designed to convert one SFF-8611 OCuLink x8 host interface into two separate SFF-8643 HD Mini SAS 4i storage channels, solving the signal loss issue of ordinary passive PCIe cables over medium transmission distances.
The host end is a standard SFF-8611 80Pin x8 male connector for OCuLink controller cards, mini PC OCuLink ports or external GPU host modules. The other end splits into two independent SFF-8643 36Pin HD male connectors, evenly splitting the x8 PCIe bandwidth into two standalone x4 signal paths to connect dual U.2 NVMe backplanes, multi-drive RAID expanders or high-density external storage enclosures simultaneously.
Compliant with PCIe 4.0 specification, each lane supports up to 16GT/s throughput and is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 equipment. Different from passive wiring, the embedded active repeater stabilizes signal integrity during routing without bandwidth throttling, perfectly matching scenarios such as 8K video rendering, AI computing and enterprise high-speed NVMe storage clusters. The cable adopts fine oxygen-free copper differential conductors with precise 85-ohm impedance matching, paired with multi-layer braided composite shielding to block external electromagnetic interference and internal signal crosstalk, ensuring error-free round-the-clock read-write operation.
All contact pins of SFF-8611 and dual SFF-8643 connectors use thick nickel-gold plating to reduce transmission resistance and resist long-term oxidation after years of uninterrupted operation. Integrated self-locking latches firmly lock both ends of connectors to avoid signal interruption caused by rack fan vibration or movement of external devices. Slim flexible braided outer jacket supports neat wiring inside compact 1U rack servers, mini ITX workstations and portable external storage chassis without blocking cooling airflow.
This cable only transmits native PCIe signals and does not support SAS protocol devices. Plug-and-play without extra drivers, compatible with Windows 10/11, Linux and Windows Server systems. Widely used in mini PC OCuLink eGPU expansion, rack server dual NVMe backplane breakout, professional workstation multi-disk RAID setup and portable high-speed external storage docking stations.
