The principle of a DIY garage door controller is as follows:
We know that a garage door can be opened and closed via a wall button. First, locate the "Push button" terminal connecting the wall switch to the controller, then connect the NO and COM terminals of wifi garage door opener remote switch to the "Push button" terminal. This creates a parallel control system, allowing the traditional wall switch to remain functional. Next, install a door magnetic sensor to read the open/closed status of the door.
However, for garage door controllers with yellow and purple buttons, this method cannot be used because they do not output signals. Instead, you must connect the NO and COM terminals to the garage door remote control, enabling your switch to replace manual pressing of the remote and thus open/close the garage door.
The Existing Wall Button and Existing Remote Control can still work, after you installed the smart garage door opener.
