What does this thing do? I have an external 3.5 floppy drive and what I want to do is copy my floppy disks to a SSD card. Or do I need something else?

The external floppy can be used to copy the files from your discs to your computer( a very good thing to do.) . The files can then be copied to and sd card. But if you want the cards to work in a floppy emulator, you need disc images. These images can be made with emulator software. and transferred to a thumb drive, etc you may need a floppy emulator if you are using the discs to drive digital equipment like synthesizers or machine tools.

will this item work with windows 95?

This does work for me. Must use standard format (1.44 MB). Smaller ones will not work. I believe this is more of an operating system limitation. Smaller formats work with my other computers.
