How many fans can I connect with this PWM fan splitter?
Each 12-inch splitter connects up to three standard PC fans to one 4-pin motherboard fan header. The package includes two splitter cables. It works with compatible case, CPU cooler, and radiator fans that use standard 3-pin or 4-pin fan connectors.
Why do two fan connectors appear to be missing one pin?
This is ot a defect. Only the labeled Master connector includes the RPM feedback pin, preventing multiple fan speed signals from conflicting at one motherboard header. Connect the fan you want the BIOS or software to monitor to the Master connector.
Will all three 4-pin PWM fans change speed together?
Yes, but all connected 4-pin PWM fans receive the same PWM control signal and adjust speed together. And the motherboard displays the RPM of only the fan connected to the Master branch.
Can I connect 3-pin fans to this splitter?
Yes, but 3-pin fans do not support PWM speed control. They may run at full speed when the motherboard header is set to PWM mode. If the motherboard supports DC or Voltage mode, all connected 3-pin fans may be adjusted together through the BIOS.
Can one motherboard fan header safely power three fans?
Check the motherboard specs and add the rated current of all connected fans. The total must remain within the fan header’s limit. This splitter has no SATA or Molex power input; use a powered PWM hub if the combined load is too high.
