Does this thermostat include a C-wire adapter? How can I determine whether a C-wire adapter is needed?
No, it does not come with a C-wire adapter. You will need one if your existing thermostat has wires for R, W, Y, G; or R, O/B, Y, G; or R, O/B, Y, G, and W (AUX).

Pleae Verify R/C Wire Connections:Check that R (Red) and C (Common) wires are securely inserted at both the thermostat and HVAC control board. The C wire must be connected to the "C" terminal at the furnace.
