3M Scotch Super 77 Multipurpose Spray Adhesive 7716 is a fast-drying, high-coverage aerosol that bonds a wide range of lightweight materials. The clear formula sprays in an even mist and offers a strong, lasting hold on paper, cardboard, fabric, foam, foil, wood, metal and more.

With aggressive initial tack and a long 15 second to 15 minute bonding range, Super 77 gives you time to position parts before they set. Low soak-in delivers higher coverage per can and helps create soft, non-dimpling glue lines for a clean finished look.

Common uses: general assembly and repair, attaching insulation, picture framing, mounting displays, bonding lightweight foam, carpet and foils, crafts and hobby projects, photo albums, acoustic panel installation, label attachment and temporary holding.

Specs: 10.7 oz (305 g) aerosol can, translucent, 25% solids, dry time 15 to 60 seconds, coverage about 114 sq ft per can. Country of Origin: United States.

    Application Instructions

How to Use 3M Scotch Super 77 Spray Adhesive

    1. Prep the surface. Make sure both bonding surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, grease and oil.
    2. Mask the work area. Cover surrounding surfaces and the floor with paper or a drop cloth to catch overspray.
    3. Shake the can well for about one minute before use, and shake occasionally during application.
    4. Test the spray on a piece of scrap material to confirm the pattern is even and the nozzle is clear.
    5. Apply the adhesive. Hold the can 6 to 8 inches from the surface and spray a light, even mist. For most jobs, coat both surfaces for the strongest bond. Coat one surface only for a lighter, slightly repositionable hold.
    6. Allow flash-off time. Let the adhesive dry for about 15 to 60 seconds until it feels tacky but not wet.
    7. Join the surfaces within the 15 second to 15 minute bonding window and press firmly with even pressure. A roller or hand pressure helps remove air pockets.
    8. Clear the nozzle. When finished, invert the can and spray for 2 to 3 seconds until only clear gas comes out. This prevents the tip from clogging for next use.
    9. Cleanup. Remove wet overspray with a citrus-based cleaner or mineral spirits. Always follow the safety and ventilation instructions on the can label.
