tesa 4965 is a double-sided polyester (PET) film tape coated on both sides with a tackified acrylic adhesive and supplied with a red polypropylene liner. The thin, transparent carrier builds high bond strength immediately after assembly and holds on demanding substrates, including many low surface energy plastics.

With high shear strength and temperature resistance to 392°F short-term and 212°F long-term, this double-coated tape is suited to mounting and bonding in automotive, electronics, appliance, and furniture assembly. The acrylic adhesive resists plasticizers for a durable, long-lasting hold. Country of Origin: Germany.

1. Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, and grease. Wipe with a 50:50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water, then allow to dry.
2. For strongest adhesion, apply at room temperature (68°F to 100°F). Low surface energy or rough surfaces may benefit from a primer.
3. Cut the tape to the required length. Apply it to the first surface and press firmly along its entire length.
4. Remove the red liner, align the parts, and join the two surfaces.
5. Apply firm, even pressure with a roller or by hand to maximize adhesive contact. Bond strength continues to build over 24 to 72 hours as the adhesive wets out.
