tesa 4174 PVC Fineline Masking Tape is a flexible, temperature-resistant PVC fine line tape with a natural rubber adhesive, made for automotive design painting and other work that needs sharp, clean paint edges.

The thin 110 micron (4.33 mil) PVC backing produces crisp, flat paint lines while flexing to follow curves and contoured surfaces. It withstands temperatures up to 302°F (150°C) for one hour with no ghosting, shrinking or residue, and removes cleanly without lifting at the edge.

1. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and clear of dust, grease and wax.
2. Apply the tape along your paint line, pressing it down as you go without stretching it.
3. Burnish the edge firmly with a fingernail or squeegee so the paint edge seals against the surface.
4. Apply paint in light, even coats and allow each coat to flash off before the next.
5. Remove the tape by pulling it back at a low angle over itself, ideally before the paint has fully cured, to keep the paint edge sharp.
