tesa 4317 Crepe Paper Masking Tape is a thin, flexible spray painting tape with a fine crepe paper backing and a natural rubber adhesive. It is made for spray painting, painting, varnishing, and lacquering work where clean lines and reliable hold matter.

The natural rubber adhesive bonds well to painted metal, rubber, glass, plastic, and chrome parts. Paints and fillers grip the back side of the tape to help reduce flaking, bleed, and runs during finishing. The tape is resistant to wet sanding and is suitable for oven-drying cycles up to 80°C / 176°F, making it a strong fit for automotive refinishing and industrial coating jobs.

The fine crepe paper backing conforms to curves and contours and tears cleanly by hand for quick application and removal. Available in a natural (chamois) color in 1 in., 1-1/2 in., and 2 in. widths on 55 yd. rolls. Country of Origin: Germany.

1. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, grease, and loose paint before applying the tape.
2. Unroll a length of tape and press it firmly along the edge to be masked, smoothing it down with a finger or a plastic squeegee for a tight seal.
3. Burnish the edge of the tape with a finger or squeegee to help reduce paint bleed under the edge.
4. Apply paint, primer, or filler as needed and allow to flash off per the coating manufacturer's instructions.
5. If oven-drying, do not exceed 80°C / 176°F.
6. Remove the tape while the coating is still slightly soft, pulling back over itself at a 45-degree angle for the cleanest edge.
