This Power over Ethernet PoE HAT expansion board is a professional power supply and heat dissipation accessory customized for Raspberry Pi 4B and Raspberry Pi 3B+ motherboards, which realizes one cable for both network data transmission and power supply, greatly simplifying the wiring layout of Raspberry Pi server, monitoring host and embedded development projects.

Fully compliant with the global universal IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE power supply protocols, it can obtain stable DC power from standard PoE switches or PoE injectors through the Ethernet RJ45 port, eliminating the need for an extra separate power adapter plugged into the wall socket, making it extremely convenient for embedded equipment installed in weak current boxes, cabinets and unattended remote monitoring positions.

An embedded miniature cooling fan is integrated on the PCB board. When the Raspberry Pi runs continuously with high CPU load for a long time such as system operation, video streaming and data collection, the fan actively blows air to take away accumulated heat, control the chip operating temperature, prevent performance reduction caused by thermal throttling and extend the service life of the core board.

In addition to powering the Raspberry Pi itself, the HAT reserves two practical expansion power outputs: a standard 5V USB-A female port can power small USB peripherals like USB flash drives, wireless adapters and small fans; the 12V pin header terminal is available for connecting larger loads such as relays, small water pumps, LED light strips and external cameras, greatly expanding the load capacity of the whole set.

The board adopts precise stacking pin design, which is aligned and fixed perfectly with the GPIO header of Raspberry Pi without offset or poor contact. The internal circuit adds overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit and reverse connection protection functions to effectively guard the core board against damage from unstable PoE power supply. Widely used in home NAS storage servers, network print servers, IP camera monitoring gateways, IoT gateway controllers and industrial embedded small control systems.
