Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 Full Copper 280mm Radiator (14197)

The Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 Full Copper 280mm Radiator is a 280 mm radiator for two 140 mm fans, 30 mm thick. It measures 297 x 144 x 30 mm and has M3 fan threads. Alphacool's technical data lists two G1/4 connections for it: the three fitting positions and the de-aeration plug of the thicker NexXxoS radiators are not on the ST30.

Full copper

Alphacool says the new NexXxoS radiators are the first to truly deserve the "Full copper" attribute. Not only the fins and channels but the chambers also are made from copper, which covers all main parts. Alphacool claims this brings an improvement in performance where other radiators are left without a chance. By its account the material already gives an advantage over the competition, and the inner structure is up to par with it. Separated chambers give the coolant a clear direction, allowing high flow rates which improve the performance of the whole cooling loop. The chambers on the heat exchanger are flat, and thanks to the reduced overall length they increase mounting flexibility.

Ports and mounting

Versatile and easy mounting is one of the main points on which the research and development department at Alphacool focused. On the thicker radiators of the series the chamber offers three possibilities for fitting installation on both inlet and outlet (not on the NexXxoS ST30). Where they exist, less angled fittings are needed, improving flow rates and offering more mounting possibilities. Hence the radiator can even be installed in tight enclosures, where internal installation is otherwise not a possibility. A G1/4 screw plug (on all UT60 and NexXxoS Monsta) allows easy de-aeration of the radiator and hassle-free vertical installation of the heat exchanger. That threaded opening can even be used for filling, e.g. in combination with a Fillport.

What the loop needs

With two G1/4 connections, one inlet and one outlet, the radiator takes two fittings. There are no plugs in the box. It takes two 140 mm fans, and the box holds eight M3x30mm and eight M3x35mm screws for them.

Notes

• Alphacool asks that the radiator be used only with clear, transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. That can also void the manufacturer's warranty.
