Alphacool G1/4 3/8" (10mm) 90° Revolvable Barbed Fitting with O-Ring - Chrome (17135)

The Alphacool G1/4 3/8" (10mm) 90° Revolvable Barbed Fitting with O-Ring - Chrome is a barbed hose fitting with a G1/4 external thread, one fitting per pack. It takes tubing with a 10 mm (3/8") inner diameter, has a 90 degree bend and can be rotated, which Alphacool says helps with easy hose connection in the system.

Barb instead of compression

Alphacool calls hose nozzles like this one a slightly different way of joining hose and connector than its classic fittings. Less space is lost on the connector itself and more of the hose is shown, a look that is particularly popular with case modding systems.

High flow

Alphacool says its fittings go new ways in looks, quality of manufacturing, colors and choice. In its words the inner diameter truly deserves the "high flow" attribute. Unlike normal connectors, the hose nozzles have an even larger bore: the connection is 8 mm inside at a connector size of 10 mm outer diameter. Alphacool calls that a unique feat in the water cooling scene.

Finish and colors

Chrome is one of the first three colors of the range, next to Deep Black and Shiny Copper, which Alphacool says offer something for every taste. Alphacool designed the product matching series to look elegant in every system while highlighting the individual design of the computer. With these fittings in combination with Alphacool tubing, the maker says, the limits are endless. A new process during chromatising (chromating) leaves the surface finish completely connected with the brass body, hence ensuring permanent intense colors. Alphacool adds that it prevents peeling of the chrome layer. On some of the fittings the Alphacool name in blue lettering additionally underlines the individuality of these items.

What a run needs

A hose run takes two fittings, one at each end, and each screws into a G1/4 port. The barb takes soft tubing with a 10 mm (3/8") inner diameter, which we stock with a thinner wall and a thicker wall.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
