Alphacool Apex Liquid Red UV-active 1000ml (18654)

The Alphacool Apex Liquid Red UV-active 1000ml is a ready-mixed red coolant for PC water cooling loops that reacts to UV LEDs or cathodes. It is used directly from the bottle and must not be diluted with distilled water. Alphacool says a colored coolant like this one is more suitable for show cases than for gaming or work PCs.

Color and UV effect

With the Apex Liquid, Alphacool says it fulfills the wishes of many modders and water cooling enthusiasts. The glowing red coolant creates great effects in Plexi coolers, in hoses (tubes) and in expansion tanks. Alphacool rates its UV reactivity with UV LEDs or cathodes as outstanding. In its words, you treat your water cooling system to a visual highlight with the best cooling performance.

Ingredients

Alphacool states that with this product it does completely without dangerous and aggressive ingredients. As a result it calls the liquid ecologically harmless, and says it can be safely disposed of if necessary. Its technical specifications name the dye as 0.1% colorant.

Application

The coolant comes mixed and ready, so it goes into the loop directly from the bottle. Before you do, read the notes below on what not to add.

Characteristics

The additives contained effectively protect the water circuit against corrosion, lime and other contamination. The mix as well minimizes the surface tension of the liquid, which means that bubbles in the circuit can be dissolved more easily. Alphacool names an additional positive side effect: the pump is lubricated, and its service life is thus significantly extended.

What the loop needs

Alphacool files the materials under the heading "No restrictions". The liquid is suitable for all materials that are usually integrated into the water circuit of a water cooling system. That includes substances such as copper, brass, nickel, chrome plating, aluminum, POM, PPS-GF40, PETG, acrylic, PVC and EPDM/PP. The UV-active blue version we stock is the Apex Liquid Blue UV-active.

Notes

• Do not add other biocides or anti-corrosion fluids, and do not dilute the fluid with distilled water. Alphacool says the basic and coordinated properties of the fluid are lost otherwise.
• With this colored coolant the water loop must be cleaned more frequently. Alphacool warns that the dyes can clog the circuit after a long period of use and impair cooling performance.
• Due to the intensity of the color, clothing or other materials that come into contact with the coolant may become discolored. Alphacool advises proceeding carefully when filling the circuit.
